Avon creates the Avon Foundation for Women with the mission of improving the lives of women and their families. The first grant is a single $400 scholarship.
1992
Avon Breast Cancer Crusade launches in the UK. Sales from the first fundraising product, a crocus pin, are used to support the breakthrough organization’s establishment of a breast cancer research center.
1993
Avon Breast Cancer Crusade launches in the U.S. and Canada. Pink ribbon pins are sold, raising nearly $7 million for the cause.
2003
Avon Walk for Breast Cancer series launces in the U.S.
2012
Avon Breast Cancer Crusade celebrates its 20th anniversary launching the Global Breast Cancer Clinical Scholars program.
2014
The Breast Cancer #CheckYourself campaign launces in 26 countries.
2015
The Avon Breast Cancer Crusade unveils a new name for its U.S. Walk series: AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer.
2016
More than $1 billion contributed by Avon and the Avon Foundation for Women to the causes of breast cancer and domestic violence– $800+ million for breast cancer alone.
